Why did my Serger arrive with 4 colors of mini thread in the machine with some cloth under the presser foot?

What if my 1634d or Designio 1234DZ did not hve colored thread or colored dials ?

| Do not unthread it. The 4 colors are matched to the tension dials on the front of the machine to help you learn which stitch comes through which tension path so you learn to adjust your stitching correctly - see tutorial link to TENSION TUTORIAL below |
